How to Apply for the Thailand Digital Nomad Visa

Applying for the Thailand digital nomad visa is a multi-step process, but Thailand authorities have tried to make it as streamlined as possible.

Here are the steps:

1. Submit Initial Application Documents

You’ll first want to submit your initial visa application along with supporting documents (financial statements, employment verification, insurance, criminal check, etc.) to your nearest Thai embassy or consulate.

If documents aren’t in English, they’ll need an official certified translation. Make sure documents are color scans or photos.

2. Get Initial Approval

The Thai embassy will review your application and issue an initial approval within 7 business days if you meet the criteria.

3. Enter Thailand On Appropriate Visa

Once you get initial approval, you’ll need to enter Thailand within 6 months on either a Special Tourist Visa (STV) or Tourist Visa (TR). Some embassies allow directly entering on an Exempt visa but check with the embassy instructions.

4.Complete In-Country Registration Process

This is the final step once you arrive in Thailand with your initial visa. You’ll submit your documents in-person at a Thai Immigration office to get the 1-2 year digital nomad visa approval into your passport.
